It's not a dumb question.
What's the difference between local & store bought flowers?
Store bought flowers have a sense of convenience around them. They are there almost all the time. You can pop in when the store is open and leave with something.
But what are you leaving with?

I can guarantee you that you are leaving with flowers that are ALREADY old.
We've all peeked into the bouquet sleeves and seen some old moldy flowers sitting in there and went for the flowers that didn't look as bad.
'Fresh' is a relative term in their eyes.
They were NOT harvested the night before or even five nights before.
And we all know that once you cut a flower, the clock is ticking. Flowers weren't meant to last forever, but you do want to get your money's worth right?
So, you're leaving with a product that is already old but your also leaving with something that could have been found in any grocery store in the USA. There is nothing unique. No vibrant colors (don't even get me started on the rainbow dyed flowers...).
Every flower you've seen before.
Sure, the purpose of the store bought flowers might not be to 'amaze' with something special and unique...but can we agree that the purpose is to show thoughtfulness and intention?
It's to show that beauty brightens anyone's day. Anyone's space. No matter the piles of laundry or the dishes piling in the sink. Flowers will make the home beautiful.
Now if that's the intention, I can tell you that store bought will never hit just right.

Flowers from our farm are harvested to order. We are cutting flowers at their proper stage to bring you the best vase life flowers have to offer.
We are properly hydrating and storing flowers before hand-tieing them into our gorgeous bouquets.
Even better is that local flowers will actually bring you blooms you've never seen before. Local doesn't have to mean common - just grown in SE MI soil.
I can't count how many times I've heard someone say, "I've never even seen that flower before!"
I actually had someone ask me if they were real one day at the farmer's market.
The first time I brought green Amaranth to the market, I had everyone coming over to ask what it was and ask to feel the fuzzy caterpillar-like bloom!
These are the types of reactions you want from flowers. They can wow and amaze and bring vibrancy to your life.

As for convenience, we make local cut flowers easy to get a hold of through our flower subscriptions and daily orders.
Our seasonal flower subscriptions are available three times a year- Spring, Summer, and Fall. These are the seasons we are able to grow gorgeous cut flowers in SE Michigan with a winter pause to plan and prep the ground for next year. We offer pick up or delivery to the local area.
